About Mister Hope

My name is Mister Hope. I am a big, hairy artist, living and working in the small town of Buxton with the lovely Rachael.
Taking inspiration from artists such as Quentin Blake, Richard Scarry, and Tim Burton, my drawings and paintings are often of simple everyday events that would often seem mundane.
I have been drawing for as long as I can remember and my best friends are Mr. Pencil, and Mr. Paper, feeling that my style is much better suited to tradition. Very simplistic, and imaginative I often use watercolour paints to bring life and colour to my pictures.
Having also written and illustrated two of my own self-published stories, I am currently working on a story with a Derbyshire author, and I am also working with an author in Chicago, Illinois, hoping to get published one day soon.
2009 saw two exhibitions for me, “Art On The Railings” as part of the Fringe Festival in the summer, and “Mr. Hope on the Landing” at the Museum and Art Gallery here in Buxton.
2010 is already looking quite exciting for me, keep checking the news section for what’s happening…
P.S, I am available for commissions ! See the gallery for examples, and use the contact link to drop me a line !
