About Mister Hope

My name is Mister Hope. I am a big, hairy artist, living and working in the small town of Buxton with my lovely wife Rachael and beautiful daughter Aubrey.

Taking inspiration from artists such as Maurice Sendak, Quentin Blake, Richard Scarry, and Tim Burton, my drawings and paintings have evolved over the last few years into what it is today. With my wife kicking me into shape, i have branched out and started designing web graphics for MM&B Studio as well as focusing on my own illustrations.

I have been drawing for as long as I can remember and my best friends are Mr. Pencil, and Mr. Paper, feeling that my style is much better suited to tradition. Very simplistic, and imaginative I often use watercolour paints to bring life and colour to my pictures.

Having also written and illustrated two of my own stories, I am currently working with New York Times Bestselling author Thomas E Sniegoski. Rachael and I are working on our own story too, and hope to release a short teaser tale later this year (2014).

I am a frequent exhibitor at the Leeds Thought Bubble Sequential Art Festival and will return in November ’14 after a baby induced haitus last year!

Please take a look in the gallery (and news for more up-to-date works) and feel free to contact me!
